Fat Man has left the building, I repeat Fat Man has left the building.
So, once again I am facing the uncertainty of a period of no work after the conclusion of a project. On the one hand, I am glad for some time off and for having receivables out in the world (it’s always good to know there are checks coming in). Plus, it being summer, there’s the opportunity to enjoy the nice weather.
I still have bluelines to deal with and truth be told I caought something which is pretty major (in my opinion) which I’ll fix before the job goes to press - I had been using a TrueType font without realizing it. Even though it’s a medium weight (of which there is no corresponding type 1 version in the family), I’ll still have to figure something out (probably scale the bold weight back).
I didn’t realize it until late in the game and if I had I would have fixed it long ago but, isn’t that always the way of these things?
I try to keep in touch with people and I hear mixed things about the state of how busy the workaday world is - some people observing this is a quiet period others having enough to keep them busy - even when we were going through the “boom” of the late 90’s, I never got the sense there was this abundance of work. I still had to hustle.
